BP gas, WTF?

BP gas, WTF?

Postby ChargR/T » Wed Jan 27, 2010 1:50 pm

Something I say to myself everytime I pass one...how/why are they still in business?

One time I needed gas and I stopped at one, knowing what the prices are everywhere else, didn't pay attention when I put my card in, put the nozzle in my car hit the midgrade button and pulled the trigger, then I noticed the price. I literally put 6 cents worth in my car when I stopped it.

They are always way higher than every other gas station out there, and the couple around me that I pass almost every day are consistently 30 cents more than all the rest. 1 is right across the street from another station that is 30 cents cheaper, yet there is cars at pumps...do people just want to shell out more cash? Or do they offer happy endings?

Sorry, a rant that I just wanted to know if this is how these stations are everywhere...

I hear ya......I can never figure out why people continue to a station that is 10 cents or more higher than the one across the street. For a couple of cents per gallon, sure I will go to the one that is more convenient.

The other thing that burns me along these lines is the different price for cash and credit. This is the only business that seems to be able to get away with this scam.

Ok....I'm done......for now.

Cash/credit stuff irritates me to no end. We shop and find the stations around us that have same price for both. Can the gas stations find more ways to gouge(sp?) us? Its when you are traveling that it becomes a PITA to find the stations with same price for cash/credit. I was kinda hoping that the criminals would pick up on this and figure more stations would be turning more cash and it would come back and bite them in the @--. But nope guess ppl are more willing to just slide the card (yep, I'm guilty) and pay the higher price. Irritating!!!

Even with the cash/credit ripoff, the BP around the corner from my house is consistently 2-5 cents cheaper than the other stations by my house.
